[Insurance after] ceasing self-employment and going back to being an employee

I understand the Swiss system classifies everybody as either an employee or self-employed.

If somebody is living here as an employee and then decides to become self-employed and later they decide to be an employee of another company again, are there any problems they face making the transition?

For example, I heard that anybody going self-employed can withdraw their BVG balance. What happens if they go back to employment, are they obliged to pay the money back into the BVG? If it is not obligatory to do so, can they still put money back into BVG if they want to, in a tax efficient manner?

Another thing I heard is that self-employed people lose access to RAV, if they go back to being an employee, is there some delay before they can potentially access RAV again? If their business goes bust in some horrible way, there is no access to RAV at all, ever again?

"is there some delay before they can potentially access RAV again?" I believe one year but you need to check.

Found this "You need to have contributed to unemployment for a minimum of 12 months in the previous 2 years. "

Is RAV the only potential issue when going employee -> self-employed -> employee again, or are there any other issues?

Swiss people always seem to be very nervous about this topic, is this simply because they have a general fear of living without all the insurance safety nets or can anybody give specific examples of practical problems that would be encountered going from self-employment back to employee?
