Swimming teacher

Hi

I wondered if anyone could help me. I am a swimming teacher with 10 years exp teaching in UK. I have been in Geneva for past year and would like to try and set up my own business teaching.

Can anyone give me any advice as to where to start - particularly in relation to whether my uk qualifications mean anything over here? Will I have to do add ones over here.

Thanks for any advice

Re: Swimming teacher

Contact SLRG for the qualifications: https://www.slrg.ch/fr/formation/rec...ormations.html

You basically need to send in your documents, as well as documentation of content of the courses you have done. It costs 25 chf.

Re: Swimming teacher

Teaching Swimming is not the same thing at all as being a qualified Life Saver.
For Swimming teaching qualifications check out Swimsports
For qualifications for coaching in a club, you'll neeed the Swiss Swimming site here

Things have improved a bit now, but Mr Longbyt, who had British Teaching Qualifications had to start again at the bottom when we moved back here, and in coaching at that time even the East German Sports' Coaches with a Uni Degree had to start with J+S 1 too.

There's a lot more about Swimming in Switzerland in a Sticky in the Sports' section.

i-b-deborah still teaches swimming, albeit in the Zürich area, but you can check out posts by her for interesting stuff.
