interview @ Novartis

Hi guys,

I already checked all over the forum and I did find nothing.
So, does anyone know what do they usually ask during an interview?
A friend of mine is going to have an interview for an Associate Scientist position.

Cheers

Things like - are you able to log on to an online forum and ask questions?

Why do you want to join Novartis?
What are your strengths?
What are your development areas?
Focus on some specific achievements highlighted in the CV and deep dive into that.

The usual script I would guess.

If you're part of a team of 5 and team bonuses are due to be decided tomorrow, how long a blade do you need to ensure you knife the other four in the back?

Are you prepared to exceed legal working hours and be on call on weekends and holidays?

I interviewed there a few years ago. It was a half-day process and I spoke with 4 different people (3 scientists and HR) and had to make a short presentation on my research at the time. The chats with the scientists were on the focus of the group, my experience, and the position itself. The HR chat was the usual bullshit; strengths/weaknesses, where will you be in 10 years etc etc.

I didn't get the job :).

Perhaps you can help then. Last time HR asked the question "What would you do if you saw an injured kitten?". Considering I didn't get the job I am wondering if you could help me refine the answer.

"Depending on whether it was big enough I would put it out of its misery - then take it home, skin it to add to the collection, make kitten tikka masala kebabs - and serve them on a warm flatbread with a yoghurt and cucumber dressing"

Was I wrong to choose the yoghurt dressing?
:D

I would have gone for a spicy mango chutney, personally.

Not with kitten. BBQ sauce maybe.

You're thinking of slow cooked puppy legs - they work really well with a BBQ sauce.

The kitten is already marinated in a spicy tikka - I went for yoghurt in case it was too spicy - I know some people really don't like eating spicy food. :D

That's why the mango adds a sweetness. If people can't handle spicy food, they don't deserve kitten kebabs, to be honest.

Hmm! Kitten kebabs, going to try one right after my freshly clubbed baby seal burger.

Why do all threads regarding Novartis interviews always end up about killing kittens?
