Maybe not in Ticino - I know many myself + of course many single parents.
Having been a single parent myself, I can't ever recall having to take a day off work for a sick child.

So were they never sick- or what did you do? Just leave them on their own with high raging temperature, or itching like crazy with chickenpox, etc?

That's old age though. I can't remember what I had for breakfast some days.

Yes.

In any case, they survived to adulthood.

Supposing that me and my husband were working 100% and the pediatrician of my child wrote me a medical certificate for 1 week I would just receive 3 days money? or the entire week?

It's really hard for me understand that he can just pay him 3 days with a medical certificate (Arztzeugnis) for 1 week, both parents have the right to be at home (not both in the same time) but if I wasn't able to that care of her it's the same as I wasn't there...at least for me...the child cannot take care of herself with 2,5 Years...we are humans not machines.

thanks you for all the help.
For the love of God, I've outlined several times now what your rights are, as have several others, and it doesn't matter the slightest if you "find this hard to understand" or not. I find a lot of things hard to understand too, some things are what they are. You can ask a 100 more times and the answer will still be the same. Also, 3 days per parent is pretty generous in my view.

You had bad luck and bad timing as you coincidentally were sick at the same time. That's all, shit happens, move on.
