Interview tips! Help please!

Does anyone have experience with interviews with Pharma companies? It's for a soft skills role. Since it's an international company, I am wondering if the corporate culture is not particularly Swiss. (I read other threads on the forum that had advice about Swiss interviews.) I would dress formally anyway.

Is it important to take references and so on? I didn't send any references with my CV.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: Interview tips! Help please!

So I guess it's either N or R? N has next to nothing Swiss about it anymore except maybe in the odd smaller team here and there. Culture is mainly American. R still has some Swissness left but it's also somewhat fading away, though more slowly.

I don't know what a "soft-skills job" is.

Some interviewers or managers care about references, some do not. It depends. Giving details of people that can give a verbal reference only during the interview process is fine. They will ask if they want any.

And the rest of the question is too generic. Tips for what? Experience in what aspect of the interview process? How did dresscode come into it?

Hello Samaire

Thanks for your reply.
Well, by a 'soft-skills job' I mean I am not applying for a virology position.
I am looking to hear experiences of other people who've attended interviews at N or R, yes.

I am not from the EU, UK or the US! This is entirely new to me.

Some kind people around ,tell your stories please.

I can't help with this interview, but this is the best book I have personally seen on interviewing. Dated but very informative, this book is a watered down version of an interviewing product called Targeted Selection. The author is the inventor of Targeted Selection and whose company is based in Pittsburgh.

Beyond "you'll have interviews with HR and the department you'll be hoping to work in, and maybe some of the people who interact with those departments", it's impossible to give any specific tips. Not only do the two companies have different cultures, each hiring manager will have a different style.

I had an interview with HR, an interview with my boss and an interview with colleagues. A friend of mine went through 11 interviews. Another, just one
- both in IT in Roche. When I hired people, I'd have a technical interview and there'd be an HR interview. Sometimes you'll have a telephone interview.
