bugger all at the moment if you work for a bank. i've seen contractors belittle DIRs and to be honest, they were right.
If you’re relying on your title to win a debate or get what you need, you’re doing it wrong. I expect my VPs to stand up to managing directors when necessary and to win the arguments.

That said, benefits aren’t bad and the title can be a door opener - some people are more likely to assume that a director has something important to say than a staffer, and so grant you an audience for that reason.

It would appear you are very ill informed about the whole topic.
What the politicians and media tell the public about a legislative initiative and how it is acutally implemented by the government are two very different things, but that is the way how (fake) democracy works in Switzerland.

Yet another topic to add to the list then.... In future check the actual legislation and you won't be caught out as you have here.

Seems that this topic has hit some sensitive spot and some people do not want it to be discussed publicly (for whatever reason?). This would also explain their childish and offensive posts.

Still way out of date... back in those days we used express profits in AM and WI as a percentage of AUM, these days it's expressed in base points.... every player in this space is now under tremendous cost pressure no matter which department you are in.

At this stage there are very few benefits left except perhaps early retirement or being able to cut down on hours worked after 57 and still get full pension contributions. Apart from that there is not much else on offer these days.
Sorry but (recent) facts tell a different tale, example the following figures extracted from the UBS Annual Report 2016:

personnel costs by division
(total personnel costs /number of employees/average personnel costs)

Wealth Management 2349 9,721 241'600 Asset Management 727 2,308 315'000 Investment Bank 3082 4,734 651'000 Corp Center-Services 3801 23,750 160'000

Does it also mention how often people are hired/fired?

Golden days in banking are gone.

Apart from that, working a lot with banks, yes, title does say something but then there are good people and idiots everywhere and with every title

Re: How much is your title/rank worth?

my point is that the MDRs these days have no idea what they are there for or what they are supposed to be doing. they just do as they are told / try to manage upwards rather than add any actual value to the orginsation.

if you put a bunch of MDRs in front of Alan Suger on the apprentice they'd be fired within the first week

So what was the reason for asking? Disgruntled because you are not one of them? Or because you are one of them?

Was just wondering why no response from the OP, and then remembered that they're on my blocked list since some of the posts were so lacking in both depth and cohesion.

When you're in the middle of living the topic OP, I can only find the right expression to describe you as that of a 'limp dick poster'. Gender neutrality presumably doesn't require me to ascertain the accuracy of such a statement nowadays, and no offence intended in any case.

OP - you're definitely not one of "them" i.e. working at UBS, so what are your motivations for finding out what lies behind the crap of what's going on?
