Hi Taomorris!

we are in a similar situation. We live in the Netherlands (not as expats). 3 children. 2 income household. Good living standards. My husband has been offered a job in Zurich. Also 180K and a small relocation package. And find it very difficult to get information on what can we realistically expect (not a house like the one we own in the NL, of course). Will 180K (bruto) be enough for a family of 5 (plus an AuPair) to live comfortably and have some left to save? Did you end up taking the job? Would you mind sharing your experience?. Thanks and have a nice weekend!

What do you really think, somebody earning this amount must at the very least have some vague idea surely ?

You think we all sitting on solid gold, diamond encrusted bidets here ?

Yep, that's the funny image spread out about Switzerland where in reality the poor people have to survive on raclette or fondue

You don't need to save any money. It grows freshly on trees here.

Re: Job offer comparison

Hi ValeriaVS,

yes I ended up taking the job but will start in 2 months, so still living in Greece at the moment. What are your plans for the 3 children? As you might know public school are free but only in German, if you want/need to go private, then consider approx 150 CHF per kid per (full) day.
