a classic case of unconscious bias.
Still, having seen many, I'd say it's a somewhat justified bias.

P.S. I belong to this group myself

Re: Friday thread: inappropriate behaviour by recruiter?

I'm going back a couple of years now, but if anyone here remembers being berated by an English woman for speaking very loudly on the S16, and for making derogatory remarks about a member of the British Embassy staff during a phone call, I apologise for calling you a prick, but not for telling you to shut the eff up.

Re: Friday thread: inappropriate behaviour by recruiter?

So what do you do when you get someone like that (need Cath Harmony):

- I stare and tut on any informative info, after having judged the footwear of the perpetrator (especially on the Zurich line 10)
- Make the necessary eyebrow and nose crinkling facial movements
- Spend the rest of the journey elaborating on scenarios in which I would enable them them to shut-up
- Get off at the next stop, and hope that their apocalypse stories actually happen

Well, the awkward ones seem to graviiate towards certain disciplines more than to others.

Let's not get too specific here

There is a new type of cell phone where the only way to recharge the battery is to shout into it.

Smaller the cell is, more one shouts?

And that - nota bene - is THE environmentally friendly one.

Think I might have mentioned this before; my worst experience was a guy in the lounge asking his "girlfriend" on Facetime to take of more of her clothes.

Re: Friday thread: inappropriate behaviour by recruiter?

Bose noise cancelling headphones, you'll all one day wish you'd bought some , I wouldn't take public transport without them.

I was on my way for an interview and had been given a task to do at the very last minute and I had to do on the bus! because the journey to the place was 4 hrs.. and a man came and sat behind me and started whispering obscenities... the noise cancelling worked a treat.

loudy recruiter can also be tuned out..

Congratulate Hugo on the new job and wish him best of luck with your former headhunter.
