What are the chances of me getting a job with swiss german as a swedish guy?

Lets say I do everything that I can to get a job in a grocery store, restaurant as a waiter, mc donalds, cleaner... Maybe take a quick course in Zurich to become a cook?

All this with C1 level in german and from there on learn swiss german (Hochdeutsch?) until I reach C1 level. Is that the right way to put it?

Switzerland has a bright future, would be a dream to have the chance to build up a life there... But what is reasonable to expect? How tough is it with these circumstances?

You are EU and you speak/write German, so there you have two big pro's.

Also important are education and experience. If you lack those it is going to be hard to settle here, and even harder to outgrow such to a higher standard if you desire such.

You live in Sweden and might consider taking education in Sweden since that is incredible much cheaper than taking up education yourself here. Set a plan for some yrs, try to find nice holidayjobs here and work your way into the country.

Working at McD might seem nice and payments are good, but life here is also very expensive, and if you lose your job you risk losing it all here.

Hello,

Well, first of all you will need a bit of patience.
Then, since you have an EU passport and want to work in the Hotel/Restaurants sector, you can focus on all the international Hotels chains such as Ibis,Novotel, Mövenpick, etc.
Swiss German is not really necessary, the most important is to understand it. Swiss German people speak German and are very flexible, which is nice.
And, do not forget the Chance factor...sometime you just knock on the right door, at the right time, with the right person, so just go for it.
Good luck and if you really want to stay in CH, never give up and I am sure you will find something nice.
Cheers, Elisabeth

You have another big thing in your favour: you sound like you are willing to work hard.

If you have little education, then I agree with Edwin: if you are young, and eligible for education there, try to get some in Sweden.

Perhaps you could travel to Switzerland to work during your college vacation periods, couchsurfing, and if you can find work, then do that, and get a feel for things here, and build connections to people.

Just curious as to how you reach the “Switzerland has a bright future” point?

No judgement being made, but as someone who is neither native to Sweden nor CH, yet divides time not quite 50/50 between the 2 countries...I’m curious
