I think you're misunderstanding "high school". High school is secondary education that usuaĺly ends at age 16-18. I think your nursing "high school" must have been a college or similar, post -18 at least. Or else your home country does things very differently.
Not quite. In the German cantons nurses don't go to gymnasium, after the 8th or 9th grade in the primary school they enter a "beruf" school during which they learn normal stuff and have practice 2 days per week. As far as I know it lasts 4 years. That's why you'll watch with shock and horror teenagers trying to draw your blood and torturing you...(sorry, couldn't resist, they are not all that bad)

I don't know if it's that young, my impression was they can't be older than 16.
I don't know exactly how these schools function, but one thing is certain - they don't need to graduate from gymnasium first, or to have tertiary education.

Re: Nurse salaries

I do have nursing degree. It's just diff in here. Most of our people move to Germany and some depending on theory and practical hours have to pass test. People with Higher School dont have to. If i cant get qualification, Then i will go to some other country pass test get their diploma and try again.

I think your system is more like what it used to be back home more than 20 years ago. Sanitary High School was quite a prestigious gymnasium and entrance exams were pretty tough. There was a high academic level though, not only additional practice. This is the old "commie" system. These days one can graduate from any theoretical high-school and then, depending on specialty, go for another 3-4 years of tertiary education (still with admission exams and so on). Is it possible the system has changed since you graduated?

OP,

I think you can inform yourself re. various job requirements and vacancies on this site (CH is also affiliated with this network)

No its still same, nurse college poped up few years ago and only accepts 48 students and there is only one. But it's very "stupid" if u ask me. They teach u everything at high school, u got 2 days per week practice in local hospital 3 days theory in school. And u have 7 weeks of all 5 days practical in hospital. U learn EVERYTHING. Higher school is just mastering skills u know and maybe if there is something new , new procedure you learn it there. Also Theory is more in depth only. College is like Higher Nursing School. Just 1 Year more education. You dont really specialize anything u learn to work everywhere from ICU to Mental Health Nurse, Doctor Nurse, except anesthesia. Later on in Higher School u can master something specific like ICU and Anesthesia or Mental Health, or Pediatric ...

Re: Nurse salaries

it will probably be different whether you are in a public or private clinic as salaries are higher in private hospitals. Approximate salary range would be about 5000-7500 CHF monthly. I had given German courses to foreigners wanting to work in Switzerland and who found jobs near Basel which gave me some idea on this question.
