Help: Formulating email

Hi,

I am searching for a job and got a positive reply from a company. They initially offered me a package of 105k and to that I replied saying my credentials were what they were looking for etc etc.

She still replies that it is too much and she can still only offer a base of 105k. I want her to see more value in me and make her budge from her 105k initial offer.

I am a mechatronics engineer and I have 5 years of relevant work experience. I have a masters in Engineering.

The job has 30% of travel required.

In spite of all my efforts, the HR seems to be kinda fixated on her "base salary offer" of 105k.

I don't know if this is good. I checked using lohnrechner.ch and it returns a median of 115k per year for my credentials.

Would it be still be worth to try and ask her to budge and in that case how?

Many thanks

Welcome to the Forum. Either you want the job or you don't. 105K is not a bad wage for 5 years of experience. Rather than trying to get 115 from the start, you may have a better negotiation if you request a contract that has incremental increases after probation, after satisfactory performance, etc.

Do you by chance know what is the travel allowance per day from switzerland to other countries outside the EU?

I just need a rough estimate as to how much that would be.

There is no travel allowance, you claim what you paid for. So not another way to make more money

Depends on your employer (there are exceptions) but yes, is mostly like that.

Not all companies support the cost of going to work. Maximum is possible on the basis of a separate meeting.

Some companies give a per diem rate for travel.

My husband once had a colleague who would stuff his pockets full of stuff from the breakfast buffet to eat at lunchtime and go to McDonalds or such like for dinner so that he could keep most of the daily allowance for himself.

Seen that happening in Germany where they often also have a per diem....

Could be step in the door, but if you want more money you have to play a bit hard-ball, possibly risking the offer. Tell them you need more time to consider other offers or tell them it's simply not enough. They might get back to you or they might not.
