Has anyone done the UBS formation bancaire initiale?

So basically my son is very interested in doing this, he his 20 years old and would really love into the finance world. I've heard great things about this formation such as it being an 18 month course where applicants basically learn about banking. Further my son really wanted to improve his French skills (his level is very good, but he would like to improve his writing abilities), and this seems like an almost perfect way to start his career. But I wanted to know if anyone who has actually done it, or who knows someone that did it, how it was and if they did actually enjoy it?

Give it more than 24 hours, mate... We are likely not your target audience anyway, as this is geared towards Swiss youngsters who have done the maturité/Matura here. Is this the case for your son? Sur dossier exceptions are made subject to close evaluation if he hasn't.

For UNI. Should work for apprenticeship logically, since it does not even need college / matura / IB

Re: Has anyone done the UBS formation bancaire initiale?

How about this: ask them directly (not internet strangers who will do the same as you presumably did - read the admission criteria on the website) if he qualifies in principle. If he does, move on to figuring out if it's for him. From the looks of it, it is a short version of the standard banking apprenticeship, did you already visit the SwissBanking webpage? They give exact details on what the course entails here:

I understand, but he really desires some practical experience in the banking world, on paper it seems like an excellent option.

Thank you very much, this in general seems extremely good as its a theory+Practical combination. I was just wondering, my son mentioned he would really like to solidify his french, would this be the course to take? His french is extremely good, but he wants to move from that barrier from fluent speaker to maternal language, how good in your opinion would this be?

Re: Has anyone done the UBS formation bancaire initiale?

Again - it is aimed at local people with local language skills. It is not a French course and he will more than likely be expected to speak at least some German.

Contact the bank, ask them. Better, get your son to do his own research, removing such simple barriers for your kids is not doing them ANY favours. It is HIS future, he should care enough to do the legwork.

Re: Has anyone done the UBS formation bancaire initiale?

Thank you for your message. My son recently contacted the bank and they were much more open and friendly then he expected. Apparently it's not only aimed at locals as they are open to taking students as long as they have done a program that is recognized by the Swiss cantons, which the IB was.

Well, there you go, good for him, it is always better to ask directly at the source for this kind of thing.
