Re: Novartis Salaries
Hi - there are many functions in R&D and the level may not define salary per say depending on the sub-function.
My memory is a bit off, but I think level 5 in Medical Affairs is a socalled "Associate Director" level (also called "Lead"), at least back in the day - Salary base was around range of 155 to 165 k CHF, or so and that, they claim, was pushing it. I think you get a 15 percent target with that. YOu need ot badge in an badge out.
Then the ranges drop from there, I think level 6 was director level, no badging in and out. If my memory serves my right, the levels were one lower than Commericial, so a level 5 Associate Director in RD, aka so all lead, would be a Manager level in commerical, level 6 a Ass. Dir in commercial and 7 a Brand Director which as I understand is like God role, head of the Brand, not like other companys where a Brand Director is still an operational.tactical bitch (it's like being a franchise head).
Hope this helps but in general I found Novartis to be low paying contrast other companys. Roche iin the same bucket, lower paying vs. smaller, mid size pharma here in CH. I was above that 165 K base when I was just a Senior Manager level in another company - as a Director level now in R&D, in another company, my base and bonus is well above what Novartis can offer, plus i work fully remote and only travel in for important meetings or for my own activities. So my advise, unless desparate, look at other companies for higher and better compensation packages.
