Bonus ...100%?

Hello Everyone, I just received an offer for a perm position which states a 100% bonus paid annually; the only issue I can't decipher, as it is not stated anywhere in the contract, regards this 100%.

What does it mean? it is based on my monthly salary, annual one or related to some accountable amount based on the productive?

The employer is a Swiss private bank.

Thanks, everyone for answering!

100% of what? Based on what?

Only persons I know with 100% boni on top of their salary are CEOs....

Re: Bonus ...100%?

Ehm, exactly that is the question, based on what? I mean there is a concept of "default" here in Switzerland or can be based on everything? monthly, annually ...weekly?

Re: Bonus ...100%?

If it is not mentioned in the contract then it can be anything or nothing.

My contract states the bonus based on my annual salary plus some conditions....

Re: Bonus ...100%?

Ask them about it and demand it is clearly written in your contract/offer.

Re: Bonus ...100%?

If the bonus is such a big part of your annual pay, check with the employer if there is any pension contribution for the bonus.

It depends on the country but typically traders and those in sales who work for a bank are paid a lower salary and then remunerated in bonus depending on what they produce vis-a-vis the firm's revenue.

Depending on... what, exactly, and how those relevant factors will be gauged/quantified: that you should get specified in your contract.

Re: Bonus ...100%?

yep should be written somewhere, in my last job 100% bonus meant 100% of what they decided the bonus would be, then with team goals etc taken into account you could get < 100% or >100%, so basically you got whatever your boss decided he could get away with, same as everywhere else really.

It was def not 100% of salary

Re: Bonus ...100%?

Ehi guys thank you very much for all your answers; in the end, was as already mentioned here, basically is 100% on a kind of "temporal amount" yet to be defined .. It might be one or two months
