Record of employment

Hello!

Can't seem to find anything so going to ask here.

A long time ago, I briefly worked at McDonalds in Switzerland. I don't have any documentation from this as it was about 10 years ago and only for 4 months or so.

Now I currently live in Canada and the RCMP needs a record of this for their recruitment process. I was wondering if there is any registry where I can get proof of my time there.

I tired contacting McDonalds but being a large company with so many messages to deal with, they have yet to get back to me. I also highly doubt they'll be of any help. I know the staff at that location has since changed to nobody will remember me either due to such a high turnover rate.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Record of employment

Well I doubt you worked for McDonalds in the first place, most likely you worked for whoever held the franchise at that location at the time. So I doubt McDonalds will be able to help.

Best chance is to see if there is a social security record for you.

Right, because going back now and tell the RCMP that he lied, he did not actually work in Switzerland but took a holiday would definitely improve his chances of being recruited - NOT!

RCMP
While I can't help with your question (other to second Jim's suggestion of getting records from AHV), I just wanted to say:

RCMP - how cool is that!

All the best with the recruiting process.

Maybe that should be in the forum rules , although compliance would slow the daily flood of messages to a trickle

Simply say there is no record available. But you could call up the social security office if you made payments for that time.

For example

Re: Record of employment

Check your payslip. This at least identifies the employer and often there is also a contact number on it.

Re: Record of employment

The AHV/OASI extract (Statement of individual account) shows employer and employment time (must have been 18 or older at time of employment)
https://www.svazurich.ch/internet/de...les_konto.html

Please see here how you can order one.
https://www.ahv-iv.ch/en/Leaflets-fo...vidual-account
And yes, it is possible to get one if you are abroad.

I missed that it was 10 years ago.
I think companies don't even have to keep a record 10 years after termination.

Not at all. Either you need to write 'for 10 years' or ' from 10 years ago'. Otherwise it could be construed that you think there are workers aged 10 who are also neatly filing away their pay slips from that age onward.

"I don't have any documentation from this as it was about 10 years ago" Seems clear to me.

There are millions working under 10 years of age. Its called child slavery!

Any intelligent/selbstständig person? It's work related stuff, important. You can scan things today and keep them for a long time

Although after a certain amount of time, especially if the amounts have been confirmed by later documents, such as tax returns and pension information, the pay slips can be disposed of. There is no need to keep everything for an entire lifetime.

Re: Record of employment

Well I started something...

To the one who gave me the zas.admin link, thank-you very much, I'll try that route.

As for lying to the RCMP...as stated not the right route to go. I also already declared my full history and it's not just a matter of being honest....that will find out! I'm approaching the polygraph stage and they literally hook you up to a polygraph machine and drill you on certain questions and about your background.

As for keeping the documents, at that time I still didn't even have a cell phone. Scanning documents was just starting to become a thing and it was just a quick job to make some cash for summer. I didn't think of it as important at the time but I realise now that, that was a mistake. Had I not decided to go down the path of law enforcement, then yes...it still would be considered irrelevant.

Thanks again guys! I hope it works.
