Married with B permits, both soon to be unemployed.

Hi

Can anyone help... my husband has just come home having been told his contracted will be terminated in June. I had the same news from my job at the end of my recent maternity leave, my contract will end in March. I had planned to register for ChŰmage if I havenít found a new job in the meantime.

Iím concerned what this means for us to be allowed to stay here as we only have B permits, which Iím assume because they were tied to these jobs we would lose them? They donít run out for 2 years though so are we allowed to stay until then, with the worse case scenario neither of us find a permanent job?

I basically want to know if we need to start planning to move our 3 kids back to the U.K in July?

You are both entitled to stay on ChŰmage (assuming you have worked for long enough).

But t shouldn't matter if you are entitled to RAV, did you work for more than a year here?

The Brexit thing spread over years, so I expect that the OP is already well informed of their options?

Hopefully you have been keeping records of your job applications and doing a minimum of 10 per month since you were informed that your contract would be terminate.

You should be OK until the permits run out or your benefits run out, which ever happens first. After that if you have not found something new, I'd assume the permits will not be renewed.

Usually your employer should have informed you of the impact, as well as the implications of Brexit.

Depending on how the company is set-up (and many Swiss companies have been majorly restructuring during the past 2 years to make Brexit nothing but a silly fart in the Global view of things).

When the B permits were granted the UK was fully in the EU, so EU rules apply to them. They should both last 5 years, assuming the employments were open-ended.
