Are UK class 2 NI contributions ok for the RAV?

Hi

I paid class 2 NI contributions in the year before i left the Uk as i was self employed. Are these valid for contributions for a RAV application. In the Uk, class 1 is needed for unemployment benefit, but that is a Uk rule, and self employed contributions dont count for some reason.

thanks

Did you make it back to Switzerland without your B permit?

Are _any_ non-Swiss contributions counted? As far as I was aware you only get RAV benefits after you've been paying into the Swiss system for the allotted time.

The OP should request a PD U1 form from the UK listing his unemployment insurance payments there. This form is then to be included with the RAV/ Kasse Application for Unemployment Compensation (Antrag auf Arbeitslosenentschädigung).

This link provides an explanation of the U1 document and is linked to where to request it in the UK and elsewhere:

Nope, just as Swiss self employment is not insured. What to you expect for under £3 a week?

I'd expect at some point in the future Rishi will be taking a gander at the NI system.

£150 is the minimum top up, but you may have paid £150 million too.
