How often RAV meetings

Hi,

I have been on RAV support since January, having meeting with my RAV Berater each month. This month we are skipping it, which I found it weird considering the Gestapo style she had.
Is it normal, or is it COVID related, like they have so much work to do that they can just go through the paperwork I send and no need to meet me?

I am asking because I know I have read that there has been an extension due to COVID, but these people have been more persecuting than supporting me, and I found suspicious that we skip a month, as if there is no enough money now with all unemployed people.

Re: How often RAV meetings

At the below link under "Schliessung der Vollzugsstellen" (Closure of enforcement bodies) line item, the monthly meeting situation is explained (translated):

"Most of the RAV offices are closed due to the current situation, but the central services are still being provided. However, advisory and monitoring meetings are no longer held in person. We recommend that you contact the RAV adviser directly to clarify any open questions."

Do you read and react to all the paper they send you??? Because if you did you'd have the answer to your questions. Gestapo style as you call it is reserved for people who don't.

So far I received:
- A general notice explaining the situation in Switzerland
- A specific notice from the local head office explaining how it would work locally (which needed to be acknowledged BTW)
- A notice from the paying agent explain changes being made to the payment system

pfff, who reads stuff on paper these days, let alone acknowledging? They should send their information in the form of a late night show.

Re: How often RAV meetings

"gestapo style" pure depends on your berater and yourself to some extent...
I know people who barely discussed job seeking efforts during their meetings but more chitchated about the weather, despite being on rav very long, and were never sent to courses.
Others have the berater always on their back.
Despite having paid insurance premiums, don't treat the payouts as a due rent but consider your rav berater as your boss instead and just say "yes". If you refuse something, try to bring convincing arguments to the table.

A lot depends on the situation as well. I know one guy who lost his job at the beginning of the year when the only company in the village closed down - he worked in the office and is 59 years old, so no chance and the RAV even told him so.

Re: How often RAV meetings

Can someone help on estimate how much time it takes for ALK to consider application (canton Schwyz)? I left my job in a very bad timing in December, but just could not stand it anymore, so with notice period 1 april - jobless, sent all necessary documents and now ALK says in consideration....but how much time it takes just to consider something? do the straftage start from day of consideration of from day of unemployment?

Thank you, and one small question, straftage also start only after wartetage? so if there are 15 days of wartetage + straftage they impose? or if there are 60 straftage they already start from day of unemployment?

First wait days (Wartetage) and then sanction days (Einstelltage).

The RAV eLearning course is an excellent source of information and is available in multiple languages. At the end, email the certificate to yourself for printing. Your RAV adviser will most likely request it:

Good luck with your job search!
