Re: RAV Question: Being fired by your employer while having a Gmbh
A terminated employee, employed for at least six months by a third-party company and who has paid into the ALV for at least 12 months, should be entitled to receive unemployment compensation from the ALK (Kasse). Please see this webpage (English) and also para. B30 at the AVIG-Praxi link at bottom of the webpage (German):
Re: RAV Question: Being fired by your employer while having a Gmbh
I contracted through an own GmbH which of which Mrs nickatbasel and I were co-directors.
During that time Mrs nickatbasel had been working for several years for BigPharmaCo AG and was made redundant.
When signing up to RAV the question came up from RAV's Herr Federfuchser about the co-directorship. In the end asked the lawyer who helped us set up our GmbH what to do - she phoned the RAV office and asked someone she knew at the RAV office to set Herr Federfuchser straight.
There were no problems from RAV after that.
Mrs nickatbasel found a new job some months later.
HTH.
Nick
