Re: UK to Switzerland - Salary right?

Hard to judge going off numbers alone, need to know what industry/sector the OP is working in. As people have said, things have changed a lot in recent years.

Re: UK to Switzerland - Salary right?

well bear in mind that the bonus should help to increase the overall annual income: what percentage have you got? should be around 25% on top of this 130K....

Re: UK to Switzerland - Salary right?

Swiss employers are desperate to reduce wage costs and one way of doing this is to hire foreign workers on wages that sound high but are below market to a well informed local. I moved here in 2016 from a job, in London, paying a base salary of GBP 80k to a job paying CHF 135k. I found out through other people that the guy I had replaced was making CHF 160k and had left to join another firm paying CHF 175k. I promptly started my job search and left that company at the end of 2016 for a market-wage. I wouldn't come for under CHF 150k unless you are desperate to come to CH.

What sector do you work in? In the IT sector here and I struggle to see roles offering more than 110k in Basel. France and Germany are a hop, skip and a jump away.

everthing will depend on the profile required for the position, I think 110k will fit many profiles very well, but salaries will go considerably above this where there are some of the less easy to find skillsets. These may be not just technology related disciplines but also things such as understanding and having worked on large IT landscapes, understanding how to manage stakeholders and so forth.

If you have luck and get a job at Google/Microsoft/FB you can double the figures mentioned there.

Thanks for the link, no surprise salaries in Basel are lowish compared to the other regions.
