Is swiss social security contributions are mandatory for contractors in Switzerland?

Hello,

I was googling a lot but didn't find the answer to my question. I'm going to work as a contractor on EU company. As I understood there is an option to use payroll companies which will help me to manage taxes and social security contributions like AHV, IV, and so on.

My question is the following. Can I pay only taxes without these social security contributions? Is it legal?

I wouldn't think so. Everyone in Switzerland has to contribute to AHV-IV, even people who don't work. My husband had to contribute to that on my behalf from his salary.

In a word no. And a bit of advice... if this EU company can't set you up properly on their payroll system but are suggesting you use a payroll company be very careful about the set up.

Not only AHV IV etc, but also second pillar contribution is mandatory on a certain portion of your salary.

Why would you even want to do that? Maybe you're very young right now but one day you'll be painfully aware of each year you didn't pay social contributions...

No. If discovered your employer, or even you, will be asked to pay all backdated dues...

Re: Is swiss social security contributions are mandatory for contractors in Switzerla

The only option not to pay Swiss social securities while working in Switzerland is as a posted worker and having the relevant Form A1. But that means you will pay social security in the other country See https://www.ahv-iv.ch/p/2.12.d (unfortunatly not available in English).

For all else there is ANOBAG https://svazurich.ch/unsere-produkte...m-ausland.html or self employment See: https://www.ahv-iv.ch/p/2.02.e

Heck, you must even pay some social security (AHV/IV) even if you are not employed and you live alone from your fortune. See: https://www.ahv-iv.ch/p/2.03.e
