Thankfully there are golden parachutes too
every little helps

But then, if that amount is high enough, you will get extra waiting days (not being paid)......

Ok did not know that, well I have to admit I have learn alot on this thread...

Anyway I think we can all agree that for RAV to be sustainable I am sure they figure out if people are not "playing the game" and as I said before they even help/accomodate people to look abroad if they want to move home.

What a thread. Summarises what SVP claim about foreigners.. RAV is a service to help people maintain a decent standard of living whilst they search for a new job. Such a pity that people see it as something to be milked.

Someone earning 148k is well inside the top 10% of earners in Switzerland, which itself is a a top paying country globally. How anyone can claim that it is difficult to save with this amount of money is beyond me.
I think if two people were earning 148K in a couple then there is a lot more breathing room - I have provided the monthly expenditure - Could i save a bit on rent yes of course...

But seriously 1K a week is hardly champagne lifestyle is it ....

No one is talking about milking - People are talking about what they can prepare for. thats it

Not about fancy or not. Just if necessary.

I have a couple also came from Canary Warf and was a 4000 flat in Seefeld, 360 for garage each car, a family car and Lotus V6.

Another couple leased an bmw M4 coupe with a kid.

But in that case is easy to reduce expenses

We must live very differently - 1k a week to cover food going out clothes fuel and travel plus whatever else is actually not much at all.

Most of the time I am actually having to not buy stuff because I cannot afford it.. I wish I could buy a bike but this will take 1 or 2 months savings allowances.

I think it would be a real challenge for me to spend 1000 CHF for food, travel etc. in just one week.

Yeah lifestyles can be different...

You have a couple who was a flat in Seefeld?

Also, being able to lease an M4 doesn't mean anything. Plenty of braggers around the lake who look like the leasing rate is 50% of their income.

Yeah, 1k a week... i live on less including everything (rent, food, insurances, taxes, clothes, travel etc etc).

And i thought around 65k was the median salary, so 50% of the people, not 25% as shown earlier).

I'm not sure why you have to justify your spending budget on EF, this is a place where most people brag about their properties, businesses, management positions etc etc. You're new here, don't let them bite you too hard.

Re: What To expect From The RAV

@OP, please realize that Switzerland is very small and EF even more so.
It’s not as anonymous as it may seem.

Perhaps not such a good idea to speak so openly about your private affairs.

Also, please, please stop speaking about «1 K a week for a single person is not a lot».

Some of us have 1 K a month to feed a family.

Your words may be perceived as a rather arrogant lack of consideration to others, even more so as you have openly said that you want to mess with the system when there are many honest poorer people who depend on that very system to survive.
