Re: Unemployment Benefits

I have registered and they thought it was normal to register before actually leaving the job.

Thanks to you all, especially Mulhollander!

Re: Unemployment Benefits

When you know, your contract will be cancelled, you have to start your jobhunt immediatley.
You will need at least 10-15 applications per month .

Re: Unemployment Benefits

Hi!!!

First post for me in this forum! I would really appreciate your help.

Situation:

I lost my job at the end of the last year with enough worked months to be eligible for the unemployed benefits.

I received the unemployment benefits from January to April 2020.

In April I found a job where I worked for 5 months and now I am again unemployed.

My question:

- Is the unemployed daily rate re-calculated based on the last 12 months or they keep the one I had before I found my second job?

- Is there any kind of waiting days or suspension days because of the lose of the second job?

Many thanks in advance!

Assuming that the framework period (Rahmenfrist) is still open, new wait-days should not occur. Art. 6a of the AVIV says (translated):

"The general waiting period only applies once in the framework period for the receipt of benefits."

https://www.admin.ch/opc/de/classifi...000/837.02.pdf

The calculation of unemployment compensation is based on these two principles (translation of relevant section from below link):

"Relevant period for the calculation of insured earnings
  • Average wage of the last 6 contribution months before filing the claim.
  • But: average wage of the last 12 months, if it should be higher than that of the last 6 months."

Re: Unemployment Benefits

Query I have as per a similar case where the unemployment framework spans until 2022 for subject but the residence permit given is only for 6 months ...subject is a UK citizen with L permit ( looking for job ) so is covered by the AFMP as per agreement reached with UK in Feb 2020. Can someone enlighten as if the migration will give an extension to this as per unemployment benefits period which end in 2022. Not sure why only 6 months was given initially ?
