How much is enough for a single person with no kids? Is having cash in the account enough given that you can spend it and move it offshore?
Check the forum thread: residing in CH without gainful activity. Someone said there ~40K CHF per year. https://www.englishforum.ch/permits-...-activity.html

Students with no income are asked to have ~2000 CHF per month of stay in a Swiss bank. 24K per year.

I'm sure someone around here knows more precise info, this is only a very gross estimate.

I think the official number is 1920 CHF/month for a single-person household. For couples and families with kids the number goes up, obviously.

Re: My EU-B permit is being forfeited due to unemployment?

This question will come up time and again when people from the Uk on b permits nearing expiry and have lost their jobs and want to continue to live here before they decide to leave. This is why I asked

Are they not supposed to be treated like non-EU now, meaning a 3-6 month L permit and a wonderful kick afterwards? Or is there a special CH-UK agreement already in place?

The Swiss and the UK came to an agreement more than a year ago that things would continue as they have been for those already resident here. After Jan 1st, the UK is regarded as a 3rd country for most things but current legal residents will continue to enjoy the agreements that existed prior to that date.

Re: My EU-B permit is being forfeited due to unemployment?

Can you explain what that means in practise in particular for those on B permits who have neared expiry and no longer work?

What would happen at the end of the B permit if they do not have a job? I suppose RAV entitlement does not change and I understand that if on RAV then the permit is automatically extended although I have seen some conflicting info on that

Secondly if you decide not to take the RAV and your permit expires and you wish to continue searching for a job what would exactly happen under that scenario? Is one L permit for 6 months guaranteed at which point you have to depart?
