Coronavirus sick leave

I am going to get a test tomorrow for covid. I think I am positive.

If I am positive do I need to submit the result to my employer and can I take some time off? Would I need a medical certificate?

Re: Coronavirus sick leave

Yes, and yes. You will need to isolate/quarantine if you are positive - the person who gives the result (doctor, nurse, testing centre) will tell you what you need to do.

And yes, you can request a medical certificate for your employer.

Plus inform everyone you have been in contact with in the past 10 days.

Plus keep safe and well at home. Isolate means zero contact with anyone else in the household. Not sharing kitchen, bathroom if possible. They should leave your food at the door and you open it only when they are gone... etc etc.

And anyone else who is close contact also needs to quarantine - that means they limit all contact with others, for 10-14 days as well... plus test and isolate if they also have symptoms.
