Job agency in Zürich

Hello,
as I can see, there are a lot of job agencys in Zürich. Are they for free? Is it worth to register, could you find a good job with the help of the job agency? How long did it take?
Thank you for answering.

Some agencies are free and some agencies will charge you a fee. But nobody can ask you to pay for something unless you signed a contract with them.

Most agencies in my experience are little more than businesses that troll the same advertising space that you could look at, re-advertising the advertisement in the hope of getting a piece of the action. This certainly the case for full time employment.

Agencies that deal with contracts or part time roles are a different animal, with companies specifically contacting them to find staff that they can take on without the risks and/or costs of being an employer.

How easy is it to find a job, how long a piece of string.

What qualifications do you have? How many languages do you speak? How old are you? What sort of salary are you looking for? How much experience do you have the domain you're seeking employment within? Are you female/male? Do you have the right to work in Switzerland? Do you belong to an ethnic group that would disadvantage you? Do have religious beliefs that would be obvious in your application? Do you have a name that suggests you're from out-of-town. Do you have any physical disability that is obvious to a potential employer?

You get the picture?

wtf?

@swissbunny: there are lots of jobs out there. Apply to every job ad you see. Quite usual to send 20 CVs and get 1 answer, so don't get discouraged. It takes some months because positions are announced for long time in order to get several applicants (options for the employer). So, don't be surprised if between application and 1st day of work takes 6 months, normal.

I was tempted to use this response too. Sorry swiss bunny? this question is too vague/open ended.
