Salary Comparison Between CHF and UK

Inspired by a different thread but I wanted to hear from people here who have worked in the UK what salary I can expect given:

1) I am on 175K base at the moment with a 15% bonus and the usual pension contribution of 15%. (Think UBS/CS) salary and benefits

2) I am looking for a similar job in london working as senior VP / Junior director in technology.

I know london expenses but what I would like to hear is the salary I can expect - Is it really half and therefore 90K GBP? If I was lucky enough to get 130K would you jump at it considering you will miss switzerland and the calmness and natue and quality of life !

I think, given the state of the UK, you'd be insane to move for less than a salary of
.

And working remotely. In Switzerland.

You can get about the same package at top tier places. But netto it'll still be a loss as the two biggest expenses taxes and rents will be higher. (Well, rents are about the same level as in Zurich but uk's rental stock is generally old cheaply built shit so normalized by quality you will pay more)

Have you been to London recently? The place is full of empty high spec new build apartments up for rent.

Same in most major cities. (Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham etc.)

Cheaply built they might be, but not old, for sure.

Personally, at those salaries I'd take Zurich over London, simply for the ease of getting around and the cleanliness/efficiency.

Kind regards

Ian
