What will an equivalent salary in Lausanne, if my current salary is 81K € in Paris

Hi All,
I am in the final round of interviews for a position in Lausanne, Switzerland.
I currently get 81K € in Paris France.
How much should I get or how much should I ask for this job offer from Lausanne, bearing in mind that my current salary in Paris is 81K €.

I have a 4 member family. Kids are 10 yrs, 5 yrs. Planning to join them in English schools.
My company in Lausanne is into information technology.
My job position in Lausanne is equivalent to that of a Senior software engineer.
Your quick responses would be greatly appreciated and would help me a lot during my salary negotiation.

There are 2 Swiss premiums, the raw salary and low tax premium.

The raw salary conversion is ~88K CHF. Hard to tell if the salary is competitive or not without knowing what's the level of responsibility of the job. Only following orders? Managing a small team or a large team? Sales? Research? The 90K in Switzerland would correspond to having a job with 5-10, closer to 10 years of experience, low management responsibility. Of course, if it's a hot field of work or you're going to have no life beyond work, income is higher.

Then there's the tax premium. In spite of Vaud having a high income tax rate (relative to other cantons) it's a lot less than France. This calculator allows to make a estimate of income tax https://en.comparis.ch/steuern/quell...teuervergleich

According to Glassdoor, based on 62 salaries, around 120k (110k base) on average:

Not sure very reliable, and I am sure the ranges must be huge depending on employer and actual responsibility. SDE with Google in Zurich probably makes 250k or more.

International school will be crazy expensive if employer does not cover. I would guess 25k per year or more.

Which isn’t going to be remotely enough to put two kids through international school. I’m not sure I’d want to do it if the household income were double that.

Exactly! If you are still negotiating and English schools are a priority for you, I'd put that as higher on your negotiating list with your employer. Some employers here even have preferential relationships with some schools. Put aside at least 40,000 chf for that per year.

Senior software engineer ... highly competitive field with many applicants.

Most companies will not pay private school fees unless you happen to be an executive or in a position which they have had trouble filling and they need to sweeten the package. More likely the latter because many companies no longer offer extras on salary packages.

Unless this is a job which the employer has had difficulty filling because of the job profile, location, etc., I would not ask them to include private school fees as part of your salary. You are better off asking for a higher salary.

But 2 kids in a private English school will cost around CHF 40K per year ...

Also, cost of living in Lausanne is higher than in Paris.

120K? EF poverty level...I couldn't even sustain myself on that in Lausanne.
