Interviews are just conversations, HR are window shopping
Why would a company pay for ads and invite people for interviews - all of which costs money - if they were not hiring?

Hello folks , I recently received an offer of 115k CHF . I have 8 years of experience . 90% is fixed salary 10% variable . Is this offer matching industry standard?

Cloud ?

why this terminology?

Because if all your data is burned and vaporized it is in the "Cloud"

but maybe ask the NSA, probably they still have a copy of your data - yes we scan!

Companies that advertise for new people look good to investors and customers. They probably have an annual subscription for job sites so the expenditure is not high. I have applied for 500 roles in the last 10 years and time and again adverts are reposted.

Well, you should know that health-related IT is usually a freak-show.

They are mostly underfunded and often prone to ridiculous non-IT influence (the infamous head-physician always getting special exceptions and treatment, often ruining the whole thing in the process).

They want to change stuff - but want things to stay as they are at the same time...

If you find nothing else, I'd take it and try to complete one project before jumping ship. Shouldn't be a problem as Azure is (IMO) big in Switzerland.

Currently there is a shortage of cloud engineers in CH, especially Azure engineers. With at least 1-2 years of experience you should be able to get a sensibly better offer.

Re: Software Engineer ( Azure Cloud ) - 115k CHF

I am confused should I take this offer? I did know about swiss salaries, I should have negotiated properly

employer offering zvv bonus pass but I guess most employers offer this.
2-month relocation apartment and help in finding an apartment.

switching jobs in Switzerland seems to be challenging.
I could see only 4-5 jobs in my field on LinkedIn as compared to 150+ in Germany. even yearly hike is also like negligible

my 2 critical team members leaving the current company and there is a 95% chance to get promoted as an architect. But again architect's salary will be less than 115k CHF if I calculate everything. whole confusion, career decision is not easy

Re: Software Engineer ( Azure Cloud ) - 115k CHF

115k is a joke for software engineer with 8+ years of experience at MSFT in Zurich.
They are low-balling you, fair compensation would be around 150k.
But it's not surprising, pretty much all sw engineers I know did a bad job in negotiating their salaries...

The game has changed, interns earn 2000chf in Zurich. Hire 4 of them for 96k or pay 1 person 150k?

Because code quality > code quantity.

Stay away from local companies, who may have this attitude and look for international ones. Those are not hiring here because of cheap labor, but looking for top skill and willing to pay top buck.
Top developers can easily go well above 200k, but then it's a golden cage, limited to just a couple of potential employers...

Thanks for the insights, I will withdraw .
My work permit process already started, will I have to pay anything if I withdraw now? Nothing is mentioned in the contract

200k is RSUs. It's basically retention bonus, probably vesting over 3y in chunks.
But for sure, for this kind of offers, you have to kill the interview totally and negotiate hard.
And have some unique skillset of course.

Thank you for you decision of not screwing local rates

Companies can keep trying this this kind of crap money only as long as there are people willing to take it.
If you are EU, then no, because there's no permit process by company needed.
Even for non-EU, I highly doubt it, but double check what have you signed

WIth high compensation come also high expectations

US companies usually don't think twice about sacking underperforming high earners

The point I was getting at was how? The company launched in 2003 and are still losing over a Billion dollars per year.

That would be question on their investors. If they are happy to dump money down the sink, then there's not much we can do about it...
On the other hand, generating negative profit could be their business strategy to optimize taxes, maybe they constantly invest into further development, assets, whatever. I honestly have no idea and never really bothered to check their annual reports...
