Hello,
For english-speaking companies and, in general, the top multinationals, the best place to look is Qual ( http://qual.ch )
The site is juried and concentrates top companies, all of which, are large international environments with english an important language.
The site has a 'Features' portion with articles and resources pertaining to employment and Swiss culture.
I've been part of the English speaking (I'm from LA) community for 20+ years now....

That all depends on whether you have the right to live and work here. If so, then yes, if not, then no.

Hello,
I am a Communication& Politics MA graduate student searching for English-speaking jobs in Zurich.
I have already had a 6 months internship experience in an English speaking company there (local office of a financial television chanel), but unfortunately without prolongation possibility.
My search is directed to:
- PR / communications departments of companies (major but not necessarily)
- business magazines in English (my second specialization field is Journalism)
- media jobs in press agencies (like reuters, dow jones, awp) or other english-speaking media (also online)
Spoken languages: English & French - fluent, German - good
If you went through any of these job searching experiences, and would have tips to share, it would be welcome.
Until now, I just used the usual job search engines, jobup.ch, monster.ch, topjobs.ch. etc.
students.ch is a jobs & internships platform, major companies advertise openings on it for English and German speakers.
Thanx

There are plenty of english speaking agencies as well, not all IT orientated: ajilon, swisslinx, mba, elan, hays at least
Try http://job.search.ch/ as well
Hope this helps. | | | | | Hi gbn!

Thanks. | | | | | CaptKave, these days job market for non-swiss nationals or non-swiss german speakers is very hard.
I speak english and a bit of french and german and as soon my conversation with the recruiters arrives at the "language station" they loose their interest and i get the trivial answer: we will contact you....blah blah.
I have to say that i am 12 years IT Professional with extensive Microsoft experience, and i try to find a job and could say that the job offers are less than before and most of the time they dont prefer to hire non-swiss language speakers...

Well I have been here 2 years and found there are opportunities out there in Switzerland for non native language speakers. The thing is you have to go for all the international ones and keep at it. Also show a willingness to learn the language(s). That helps.
Although I guess it is still an employers market as there are more people than jobs right now.
Good luck.

Hi everyone.
I am new to this site and also looking to work in Switzerland.
I am from the USA, married to a Swiss and now have my Swiss citizenship. I am in sales and product management - been working in software for the past 9 years.
I am looking to find work in Switzerland before I make the move over there.
Ok here comes the question:
Anyone know if it is even possible to find work from here (usa) for there (CH)?
I speak ok German, fluent I guess as I worked there about 15 years ago...for one year. But my language is a bit rusty.
In my position I assume language is key.
Any ideas on getting jobs from over here?
Also, I am looking at the possibility of waiting another year and getting an accelerated MBA (1 year course) to add to my BS in computer science and certs in product management...ideas on that?
Looking forward to any and all suggestions.
BTW I have enjoyed all the previous threads I have seen here so far.

a | | | | | Hi!
I suppose you should move instead of getting a MBA...
I am not really sure, I think it's important to have a MBA, but you have experience and the only thing that seems to hold you is your "rusty" language...
So maybe its better to go for it, and try from there?
Anyway you can also go there and do a MBA online from there, if the job market is hard for you!
ps: I have a Msc in IT, and in my field, its nearly useless... I mean it's not getting me more works!
but maybe MBA is different?
