I know this has been asked previously in this thread... bit not in a long time.
Where does one find manufacturing companies or remedial labor jobs for english speakers?
See my earlier post... https://www.englishforum.ch/employme...ml#post2662433
I am getting desperate as my savings are close to gone. I'll take anything that pays at this point. PM me if you know of anything specific please...

For a list, search on "Fabrikmitarbeiter" and "Logistikmitarbeiter". Possibly a factory or logistics center would hire an English-speaker: https://www.job-room.ch/pages/job/jobSearch.xhtml
You might wish to filter on your canton "Bern (BE)".
Embassies and consulates in Bern might hire English-speakers for security. Securitas and Protectas are two of the largest private security firms in Switzerland: http://www.securitas.ch/en/jobs/securijob.html http://www.protectas.com/en-GB/
Search on indeed.ch on keyword "English" for canton Bern. Possibly there will be a job there for you: http://www.indeed.ch/Stellen?q=english&l=Bern%2C+BE |

The lower down the pay scale, the more important language becomes as without it you CANNOT communicate to your fellow workers and receive instructions or carry out the tasks allocated.
The lower or menial jobs nearly all require spoken German/French/Italian as this is the common language of the work force

If you have - the best way is to collaborate with the agencies like Page Personnel, HAYs, Manpower e t.c. or to scout for internship programs directly at the sites of your target companies.
Based on my experience of job-search, I can tell that nobody cares about your Eastern Europe origin (I am Russian and it has always been ok). What really matters - is your communication skills, motivation and professional background. The stronger they are - the more chance you have. | | | | | Wouldn't he automatically be granted a work permit if he lands a job though?

Hi everyone.
I'm a recent graduate in Politics and International Relations from London. I moved here in September and have got my French up to an A2 level. Meanwhile, I have been looking for any internships, graduate schemes, traineeships, jobs to gain my first experience, ideally in a political field (NGO's, UN bodies, Diplomacy etc.). However now, my money is running low, my french course has finished and basically, I need any employment opportunity. Obviously, I am on the job sites and have applied to numerous but to no avail as of yet. Any suggestions of where to turn?
I need something that requires only English and ideally in my field. But failing that I would take anything, a menial job or anything?
Many Thanks,
Shane.

Bear in mind though that these jobs don't give you the regular Swiss residence permit, but special ones. If you move out of that area you'll need to find another job which will give you a Swiss permit. Also NGO permits don't count towards getting Swiss citizenship as you would need a C permit for that.

Thanks for the links. Unfortunately, UN jobs require years of experience and the internships are unpaid therefore I can't do them, it's a real shame. | Quote: | | | | | https://careers.un.org/lbw/home.aspx...SJ&vacancy=All https://uncareer.net/

The problem you have is that English only jobs are usually the high level ones, not entry positions. Anything else like shop/factory work, construction, restaurants, etc, needs you to be fairly fluent in the language to understand what customers are asking and also that you understand instructions you are given by your boss. A2 level simply won't cut it.
