The CELTA is by far the most widely accepted qualification. I recommend doing it at the ITTC in Bournemouth UK, a school with an excellent reputation and much cheaper than in Switzerland. (This is not an ad - I do not have any connection with this school except that I did my CELTA there and got a B grade thanks to the quality of the teaching).
Hi Hyacinth,

Thanks for the recommendation. This is exactly the info I was looking for and I may just go there in April to brush up my English and pass the certification. I saw TEFL crash courses being offered all over Europe - for example from the International TEFL Academy in Florence, Rome... - but since it will be so intensive, the location is not important, the school is. Do you know whether they have specific start dates ?

I am Swiss French, not a native English speaker, working as a translator German/English into French. For me, CELTA/TEFL is not for teaching here but rather a possibility to - maybe - teach part-time in Asia and become 100 % nomad.

Philippe
