Insurances for cleaners

Hi there

Can anyone clue me in about the required insurances for a cleaning lady? I saw this post from a year or two ago when someone bumped it yesterday, and there was an interesting quote therein.

Questions about cleaners

Quote:
We have her registered with the social security (i.e. she doesn't work "black" as they say here), but don't have to pay for any other mandatory insurances because she works less than 8 hrs per week. We DO have her insured for accidents (costs about Fr. 50/year) just in case she falls off a ladder or something.
So if I hire someone who's already legally here, all I have to do is register with... who? And where can you get this kind of accident insurance; is it something I would likely get from the same place as my own liability and renters insurance?

I've given some thought to hiring someone, and of course would like to do the right thing; any assistance you can offer to fill in the blanks would be most appreciated.

Thanks
Lance

Re: Insurances for cleaners

There's some information about the process in this thread, but only few details about the employer's insurance:
