Hi Machie,
I am also a nurse moving to Lausanne region soon. If you are seriously thinking of nursing in this region then you need to get your French up to speed by taking lessons, doing voluntary work etc. If you want to work in the meantime then have you thought about perhaps working in a bilingual nursery eg
www.children-palace.ch ?You could also try posting an advert in one of the online sites eg .
http://www.pourvousaider.ch/sante/ http://www.educh.ch/
( which is free)-also has job adverts or advertisng in the English speaking churches. I cannot think of where you may get a stage but will have a think, are you prepared to do it for free? Have you tried the CHUV
http://www.chuv.ch/chuv_home/chuv_emploi.htm
"Stages" for nurses
en soins infirmiers (emploi + pré-stage + stage propédeutique) Soins infirmiers du CHUV
Mont-paisible 16 – 1011 Lausanne
Soins.infirmiers@hospvd.ch
The CHUV is part of the federation of vaudois hospitals so you might want to try a public hospital nearer to geneva
http://www.fhv.ch/
What specialty are you interested in?
If you are doing home visits etc eg infirmiere liberale, soins a domicile, you will still need good French unless it is just a job to accompany someone.
Maybe you could contact some of the nurses who have their own "private cabinets"

Can`t think if anything else off hand. These links are all for the lausanne area sorry I can`t help with Geneva but if you google you might come up with something. good luck
