Consolidation Accountant Salary - Help!

I've been through the interview mill and it looks like a job offer is just around the corner. In order to prepare for the thorny issue of "Salary expectations" I'm asking for your help/suggestions/opinions please:

Job title: Consolidation accountant
Job Desc: In a nutshell, consolidate group accounts.
The company is a massive global group, so there are many complicated issues when preparing multiple accounts for their Myriad of SBU's. They seem to have a shortage of this expertise in Switzerland, I say this because I speak no German or French and this is not an issue, in fact, all interviews have been in English
My experience: I'm 30 years old. Qualified ACCA & M.Sc. 3.5 years experience in preparing consolidated accounts.

I reckon 95k-105k is a good ask? What do you think?

Re: Consolidation Accountant Salary - Help!

Hi,

it depends. will you be the responsible person for the job? or part of a team? you can have a look at michaelpage.ch, they have a salary survey there, with detailed numbers for guys doing conso.

i would say you should ask more. around 120. but its hard wo the details.

when i came here i went to a smaller kind of company(still it was stock quoted) to do conso, and external reporting under ifrs. There were no team, I did it all myself. i started with 100k, but managed to get 120k later(honestly i dont know...maybe i was overpaid??).then i was laid off.

You can still say you are not aware of Swiss salaries, and would like to know what they offer.

I guess it is a bank so you can also hope that somebody pops up to help you out as I have no clue whats the moneys in banks.

GL for you!!
