IT Professional Zurich - 100,000 chf pa sound ok?

Hi all

I know that this subject has been pretty much beaten to death, but any help would be good.
I have a job offer in Zurich at 100,000 CHF PA.
I have a bsc in computing and five years experience. I am a Systems Admin for Wintel and SharePoint technologies.
Do you think that the figure above is along the right lines? Or should I be haggling for more?
Ive read that the minimum figure for foreign IT professionals is 90,000 CHF
http://www.fragomen.com/newsresources/xprNewsDetailFrag.aspx?xpST=GlobalAlerts&news=436
so am a little concerned that I may be underselling myself?
My wife will be coming with me and she does not have a job offer at present ,so Im hoping that we will be okay to survive on that figure.
Thanks in Advance
Eugene

100,000 CHF PA and the minimum is 90,000 CHF PA.

What was your question again?

100,000 CHF is enough to keep you and Mrs off the street. Especially if she gets a job too.

The industry dictates a lot when it comes to salary.

A Bank may pay considerably more than a small/medium sized company in a small specialist field.

A charitable organization may also pay on the lower end, but you may be able to forfeit taxes (and save 20-30k chf in the process).

Some companies will pay for your housing, relocation and private schools for kids, those also tip the scale considerably in your favor.

But otherwise I personally would see 100k chf on the low side for a Sysadmin, especially with Sharepoint skills (it's in demand) with 5 years experience (in those positions).

But 100k chf is not too bad. You could probably get this to 110 or 120k depending on some situations.

90,000 CHF is the minimum you look at for employees at their first time experience or with very limited experience, you and your misses will be ok for a while with that figure but you won't be rich

I am a SharePoint 2007 and SharePoint 2010 Enterprise Administrator with close to 4 years exp in SharePoint Technologies(Microsoft Certified IT Professional),working in Basel for the 20 months now. In fact I have a cool working environment with my existing employer ,but no much salary increment

Well, googling your username gave me in an instant your real name. Let's just hope your employer doesn't do the same after reading your post.

A sharepoint admin that has his google+ account settings on "everyone can see all my stuff" is not really worth a lot IMHO.

Groaned because for just about the first time ever, I found your post overly judgmental.I work in security and privacy and I have my stuff pretty wide open, because I dont consider it private. You want to know what I had for breakfast this morning, or see pics of my vacation? Great, go for it.

What is it with Forum members that rush off and Google every newbie on here ?

That's quite perverse and insecure if you ask me.

You can always try as long as you're not shooting for 20% or something silly.
Certainly once you are in, there is zero room for manoeuvre.
Maybe 5% is possible, depends if they are relocating you, giving you the perks and training, language course etc, etc.

Larger companies pay in bands/levels, and they won't pay a newbie top of their band/functional level because otherwise when it comes to pay rise time next year, they have nowhere to go, you're already at top dollar. In a managers eyes, he'd have to justify to HR why you'd then be getting paid above your band. You can't change a functional level without a lot of negotiation is at all.

This rate is probably pretty much correct for the scenario.
