Consultant or contractor ? There's a huge difference. You must mean contractor as a Consultant would ask a more meaningful and qualified question surely ?
Average over the whole IT sector ??
Why average ?

Re: Avg Salary for IT consultants

Funny how often this question is asked. Often with minimal details. Like - skill set, for example. But I'm more bothered about so-called IT consultants, who you'd have thought have some kind of expertise in things IT related, have an inablity to use tools, like google, in order to find information. Preferring, instead, to take the lazy route. Is that how you work as a consultant , is it? You're the one who is supposed to have the knowledge.

Try here.

Exactly. The use of 'Consultant' by even the youngest and most base IT employee is far too common, it must really irk the true independent Consultant. I would suppose the real test of a Consultant is in the quality of the answers and not the questions, although , as you can see from the OP, the quality of the questions can also be an indicator.

Is the same question as "Can you tell me the average rent in Geneva please"

Re: Avg Salary for IT consultants

Indeed. A true Information Technologist would know that questions can carry as much (and indeed sometimes much more) information than the answer to the same question does.
