I would do it if I were you. This is from canton Zurich so you would have to check with your canton if it's the same but it seems that you can "earn" days that way (your Rahmenfrist will be extended).

I would, however, not move with the family (at least not initially). Try AirBnB if you don't like a WG or see if you can find "mature" WGs (they do excist) and use the Job to apply to other jobs (closer to where you live now). It is always easier to find a job if you are employed.

Rahmenfrist is NEVER extended, you have to be entitled to a new one on usual terms so a min 12 months work in 24 months.
Money paid out is calculated as days so you can use those days to the end f the rahemnfrist as insured days is less than rahemnfrist.
