Re: Open positions with Wipro (Zurich)

The sybase/oracle job in zurich interests me - but I do remember that the last batch of positions which you were "pushing", required the applicants to be below 34 years old.
No mention of salary ranges - normally I never send out my cv unless I have a rough idea of what a company will pay.
The bangalore jobs which come up on a sybase search - would they be paid with a swiss salary or at local levels?

Thanks for the link.

Like I said, Iam not pushing anything .... have a look at the careers section on the webpage & you can apply for whatever you want.

I am just pointing out for the good of the EF community that these positions exist, tbh, I am actually quite narked that you seem to think I can get some personal gain out of pointing to a corporate website.

Hi Polorise, I did want to point this out a while ago, but feared you may not understand. Sometimes it's not good to post things on behalf of other people. For example, for the recent convergent post, they could have posted themselves, registration here is free. But some people are too lazy to register so try to get others to post for them. As you can see, some people get confused, especially if you haven't put a disclaimer at the top of bottom, or better would be to actually enclose words that are not yours into quote blocks. After all, if they appear to come from you (i.e. not in a quote block) then many people could be forgiven for misunderstanding.

This is exactly the reason why I refuse to post ads etc on behalf of other people (they do ask from time to time) - I'd end up "owning" the recommendation, whether I liked it or not. Now people remember you as the guy peddling positions with a maximum age of 34

I know you were just trying to help. Maybe best to put stuff up when there is a direct link to you e.g. "Our team is looking for...", but your posts often start like that, even when it isn't really your team (as I said, no quote block, no introduction that these are not your words).

Re: Open positions with Wipro (Zurich)

Personally I can't be fagged with posting these anymore, as all it seems to lead to is confusion & or my personal integrity being called into question.
As a matter of fact, I occasionally do make some side money on referrals for jobs, but thats in Telco (my area of specialisation) & have never & would never post these on a public forum.

Anyhoo, down to serious matters ... time for a coffee....

Re: Open positions with Wipro (Zurich)

On a dissenting note, I think Polorise's posts are pretty helpful. I'm currently helping my spouse look for a job in Switzerland and I've been scanning this particular section quite regularly. Polorise's posts for what's available in the IT and Telco industries are what I've been suggesting for the wife to take a look at.

Too bad as it looks like Polorise won't be doing this anymore.

Re: Open positions with Wipro (Zurich)

Yeah another vote of thanks for Polorise on posting these ads. In doing so and raising your head above the parapet you mistakenly get some flack for somehow being reponsible for the ad content (eg the age thang).

This is obviously not the case, but even worse IMO some people expect everything to be given to them on a plate, without making any efforts on their own. I am sure they will get the response they deserve

There is no avoiding the forum-public scrutiny of such job-ad postings, but I think thats no bad thing.
