Audiology in Switzerland

I am a NZ Audiologist, possibly looking at moving to Switzerland next year with my partner.

Just wondering if anyone had any information about how audiology works in Switzerland?

In NZ we are quite seperate from ENTs, but from what I've read the term "audiologist" doesn't really exist and ENTs have nurses/technicians to do the testing for them. I don't know if my Master in Audiology would be recognised in Switzerland, or if it would be possible to even work in my field there (apart from working at hearing aid manufacturers). I'm waiting to hear back from the Audiologie-Kommission, Swiss Society of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Head and Neck Surgery but have heard nothing yet.

Are there any audiologists in this forum? Would love to hear your experiences.

Thanks very much!

Then it is probably best to wait to hear back from them - these things take time here..

If no one has answered, it is possible that no one here knows.

I have had a quick look through a few of my favourite job-search pages, (jobs.ch, http://www.a-z.ch,)
and found one job.. (which is more than 0 )

If you were to be working with patients here, you would need to know one of the languages - just like the nurses and the doctors. Even in this research position, they want German as a mother tongue, and English as very good, but secondary.

Hi Kiwi Audiologist,

Just wondering if you ever heard back about whether you are able to work in Switzerland as an Audiologist? I am in a similar position myself and am just looking at options.

Have you looked at Bernafon.com? I saw some open positions on their website looking for people that have very good knowledge of english.
