Widder bar in Zurich is my best bet but not a martini person so not 100% sure.

I'd probably head to The Savoy just off Paradeplatz | This user would like to thank for this useful post:

Sometimes at my house. It's pretty easy to make, isn't it?
4 parts gin or vodka
1 part vremouth
2 parts olive juice and olives on toothpick
I like to keep the gin or vodka in the freezer overnight. | This user would like to thank for this useful post:

The Tina Bar, above restaurant Cantina, in the Niederdorf looks like a Savoy style bar from 80 years ago and serves excellent drinks amongst diverse and interesting patrons; politicos, trannies, kids on a date, old dears, actors... My favourite bar. Ask for a Bombay Crush | This user would like to thank Uncle Max for this useful post:

Now the next question is how to order it in German? Something tells me that a request for a martini "extra schmutzig" would create confusion.

I shall try it. What's the deal with smoking there? What's their cigar selection like? What did you smoke?

So you feel like it's 2005 or something. 99% of the people in there smoke cigarettes. I went there last week as a non-smoker with some Swiss friends who cannot accept the idea of "Ausgang minus Ciggies"... I really forgot what a bar full of smoke feels like and how much your clothes stink the next day.

Be careful when you order one - it is very likely you get the "martini" stuff from a bottle which is something totally different. But if you go to a decent hotel bar, they should know how to mix one.

it was late saturday afternoon so place wasn't too busy and thus not too smoky yet - not sure how they get around the ban but on the day (5th) there was a Davidoff rep there giving out free cigars...and the bartender was chatting to us quite a bit and slipped us a couple of free espresso martinis too...
I swear i'm not biased because i got all the free stuff though....
Overall the bar there is quite old school - big comfy seats - older clientèle - we also had food which was excellent and for a place right off Bahnhofstrasse i was pleasantly surprised with the prices....
So to summarize - Just try it!
