I always prefer Outback Lodge near Bahnhof Stadelhofen. Normally, 1-2 stange is not enough for me and my friends; therefore, we always order 1 full jar of beer which is of 2.5 liters and costs 25 CHF.

I don't know about cheap; but I often drink at Devi's bar near Wiedikon station or the Cargo on Elisabethenstrasse. Both places nothing special but friendly staff and clientéle.
