| | D-Vino Winebar Zürich - anyone been?
Hi,
This is the "Denner" winebar in Zürich - just read this review: http://harrysding.ch/2008/09/08/dvino/
The "Denner prices plus SFr30 corkage fee" sentence made me laugh.
Seriously though, has anyone here been to it? Is it any good?
Cheers,
Nick

I've been twice-- once in 2009, and once in 2010. I thought it was a nice place, didn't realize it was actually part of Denner... it seemed pretty fancy to me. But what do I know?
First time was for some after-work drinks and tapas with some coworkers when I was working on a project team nearby. Second time was with a buddy who treated me to a lovely glass of champagne after we saw a Cirque du Soleil show on a Saturday evening. Both times I felt the atmosphere and quality of the drinks/food were quite good.
Anyway, my two cents. Hope this helps! | This user would like to thank I-Lin for this useful post: | |

I have been to two of them, the one in Seefeld & the one off Banhofstrasse. They are OK places, usually busy and the prices are pretty reasonable for the wine compared to other places I drink.

I have been to the one off the Bahnhofstrasse couple of times. It is a nice place to meet up someone for quick lunch chat or evening drink. Food is okay, prices are okay. Just that the place is very central and decent. Nothing extraordinary about it.

Decent wines, some basic tapas type dishes, reasonable prices. Service OK, they haven't been rude or inapt, but wasn't too friendly either. A place where you would go for chat over some drinks and wouldn't expect to pay the earth.

Good place to buy wine late at night as they sell at Denner store prices for take away.

I've been to the one off Bahnhofstrasse a couple of times over the years - the wine selection is way better than "owned by Denner" might sound. The best is actually not the drinks but the snacks: They have Spanish ham which they freshly cut from a huge entire leg for you. Best in town.

Thanks all for the replies. I did notice the Limmatplatz one yesterday on the way to the Viadukt. I'll definitely be giving it a try.
Cheers,
Nick
