The next game is dec 28th, we normally have a few cellic fans in, hope you make it along

WATP (we are tax payers )
Unfortunately, I think you mean 'We are NOT tax payers'!

28th might be a good shout, I'll be the one sitting quietly in the corner

See....
Some want to hurl abuse, others want a "nice quite" pub atmosphere...
Some are just happy with a decent fush&chups.
You can't please everyone.

Be true to yourself and do what *you want* to do(!)
That way you will do it best(!)

Posting pictures of your place too might help.
Do you have a website? There are a lot of web-bunnies here.

Just ignore Phil.. he's just bitter that he missed a good night at the Viadukt last night
Check out the website (think i posted it on 1st page already) www.mcarthurspub.ch

Also if anybody wants to be updated with every event, like our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/?ref=tn_tnmn#!/McArthursPub

As i said originally, this thread is aimed at getting feedback, most of the feedback i have had involves very slight amendments to how i normally advertise as opposed to changing things that i do already. Things like the sunday roast have been considered over and over again, but i dont think i have enough of a market for it in lenzburg so this would be an event purely aimed at the englishforum. Thats the only reason we have not had one yet, but may give it a bash next year to see how it goes.

great idea. just offer free beer for 2 hours and i think you'll have a good turn-out. can't guarantee it will be a commercial success, but i'm sure it will be a success socially!
Our beer is always free phil, its the service you pay for

I was referring to ourselves in that instance.

Unfortunately our cook is back in scotland over the christmas/new year period so may not be able to offer the culinary specials for that game but would be good if you come along anyway, all our staff are scottish and i think you would feel right at home. We have a few Celtic/Rangers fans in for the games too so you should get the banter you are looking for.

I take that as a personal insult actaully. I believe that our events are more thought through and inventive than many events in zurich which are very popular.

I had to knock people back in january for burns as there were NO pubs in zurich celebrating it. We had EF members in Lenzburg then.

A pub quiz? very popular in zurich but we wouldnt ask people to come all the way to lenzburg for that as it exists in zurich, we only ask members to come to special nights that are not as common down there.

We are trying to offer restaurant quality food at pub prices with the pub atmosphere.
well, personally, if i'm after restaurant quality food, i'm not going to go to a noisy pub when a match is on.

We show all games that are televised by sky and teleclub and can show 4 silmutaneously so there is a good chance we can show that one for you

hence the reason i asked earlier when the most suited time to serve a sunday roast would be, my conclusion was before a big match meaning people have the option to stay for the game or not.

Do you ever eat in pubs?? I assume not or you wouldnt complain about getting restaurant quality food in a pub for a pub price.

Looking for wind ups i believe!!!!

I choose Celtic

If you read the sport section we state the following:

"Although we do try to keep our website up to date with all the latest sporting events, we concentrate on football. If you want to watch ice hockey, boxing, tennis, Formula 1 or any other sport please dont hesitate to ask at the bar."

Of course we will show it, we just only advertise football. We have 4 tv's and try to show a different match on each tv when there is sport on, whether it be football, rugby, ice hockey or the rest

The website looks pretty flash, but a bit disappointed the menu's not there ... had to head over to check out your facebook page to find it, perhaps if the menu's going to take some time to format for your website include a temporary link to the facebook menu page?
Now I'm thinking of a family night at the pub ... but only thinking until we hit Spring, little kids and cold weather late at night are not a good combo!

So, you wouldn't mind if I nipped 'round behind the bar to pull myself a few pints, then? Looks like I'd have to bring my own glass, though, or I'd be short-changed ...

I put a temporary menu card on the website, not great quality but visible for the time being

I'd rather not play video games while I eat my chippy thanks.

I will make my way there probably once I get a car and there Is a cool event. I'm very far away and train timetables aren't flexible enough.
