Going out in Basel under 17

Hey,
I'm an student at the international school of basel
And i'm 16 and my friends and i wanted to go
out for our friends birthday.
But you have to be at least 17 to get in to clubs
(kuppel or en vogue). I have only been living
here for a month, so does anyone have like
suggestions for where we could go?
Are their any youth houses in Basel?
Pepino

I don`t know what you are into but clubs, pubs and such are still very much off limits for you.
You could try the Pfadi (http://www.pbs.ch/de/verband/) or scouts for the organized things, and don`t forget you can do stuff like shoot semi automatic rifles at your age.

Yes i was indeed thinking along the lines
of youth movement organized things or other
youth organizations. I used to be in scouts myself
But that was before we moved to Basel

Re: Going out in Basel under 17

If it was summertime I would organise a grill by the river.

Otherwise there is the Jugendzentrum by Dreiresenbrücke that has a lot of stuff going on.

Cheers,
Nick

Re: Going out in Basel under 17

How about loading up with BBQ stuff and going for a hike in one of the forests near Basel. Lots of trails have bbq sites scattered around, complete with firewood at times.

Or book into the climbing wall for a session, or iceskating, followed by a meal at a nearby Indian, pizza or Thai restaurant ( or whatever you prefer in the way of food.)

Or, go cycling (do you all have MTB's?) for the day/afternoon - can still combine this with a bbq in the forest.

All/any of the above, then head back to the house of whichever parents are the best in the kitchen and have a big screen, so you can all munch on cake and other goodies whilst watching a movie.

Re: Going out in Basel under 17

Can't you just buy a few cases of beer and hang out in the park?

That would be me, but then they go cram into daughter's room and watch DVDs on her 21" monitor!

Also, daughters are both great in the kitchen (thanks to me), but do bring over friends for my Tex-Mex.
