Phos, I can't figure out what kind of electronica you search when the Loveparade didn't satisfy you.

I want a deep and dirty house night.
My dissatisfaction is not with the music, more with the crowd.

No exact answer for you peachy but I suggest to keep the Moods bookmarked. It's Zurich's Blues an Jazz club but you might get lucky. Also there's often a DJ playing after the concert.
Soul Survivor at Moods is probably the best night I've been to in Zürich, fully recommended. I'll keep my eyes open for House nights there

Rohstofflager - TRAX

Hive is good while a bit boring after you been there like 10 times - all the same people just another day.

Re: Zurich Clubbing

1. Hive Club - good music, underground vibe
2. Rohstofflager - best guests and nice vibe
3. On very rare occasions: Rote Fabrik (e.g. lethargy festival during street parade weekend)
4. Club Q - can have some good guests occasionaly, but the crowd turns me off the place.

Akt 4 near Escher-Wyss Platz has some good DJs for pre-club entertainment.

- That's the sum of my 2.5 years of limited exposure to the scene here. I know how you feel really - I usually have to drag a mate or two kicking and screaming to these events. P.M. me if you're planning something.

The legal drinking age in Switzerland for beer, wine, and cider is 16 :-D. However, some clubs might have an 18 or over policy. In that case, she can't get in. Bouncers are extremely strict with IDs (and also unmoving -don't waste your time trying to bribe them...)

Re: Zurich Clubbing

There must be hope ! just read through the other posts, bouncers here can be dicey.. i always take id now after a long trip home once to fetch it, in response to raving fifteen years ago.. yes it was something unforgettable and amazing beyond words but as im only in europe twice a year i still think its my duty to go out and party , i also have a problem with dragging people out , they tend to think they are to old ! nonsense. So, if anyone does hear anything or is planning house/techno/trance or anything else night, let me know too.. i will post the outdoor partys ive been reccomended, they can be quite crazy here ive been told.

Have recently moved to Zurich from manchester in the UK to start a new job, really enjoying the city so far but don't really know anyone here yet. Was wondering if there were any good house, techno or breaks clubs in Zurich that people can recommend? I miss going out in the UK but nightlife in Zurich is on par, looking for people who are interested in meeting up and enjoying some good house and techno clubs.

Re: Zurich Clubbing

There was a gay club that was well frequented by straights due to the good atmosphere and music - forgotten the name - but got closed down when the owner got nabbed with half a years production worth of some pill.

Anyone know which club I'm talking about and whether an ersatz has opened up?

If anyone is interested in trying out Hive or Rohstofflager let me know. Ta.

I hear Hive is alright for afterhours. I might pull an all-nighter sometime this summer, with the right set of people.

Re: Zurich Clubbing

Hi

We have just arrived in Zug with my 15 year old daughter. Most of her school friends are around 17 and 18 years old and of course they want to go clubbing. I am not happy for her to go out and drink with these friends, even though they seem like nice kids. I am having some battles explaining to her that if she uses false ID and is caught underage drinking then she could get into a lot of trouble with the authorities and it could extend to our right to stay here too. Does anyone know what could happen if she is caught underage drinking? Thanks

You know what they say if you have to ask... .

It's a subjective question- it depends on the club, what you drink, how generous you are, what you wear, who you know, etc.

Re: Zurich Clubbing

CHF150 should keep you bouncing, once you've paid entrance (say CHF20-50), a few drinks (around CHF15 each), and a gram of decent central nervous stimulant... or whatever.

If there's a small gang of you it's often better to buy a bottle of something. It seems expensive at first, but as the night goes on you'll realise how much you've saved. The club usually supplies 'free' mixers to go with the ice-bucket. If you call in advance, they may even get you a reserved table if you agree to buying a bottle, which can be handy when you're flagging...

Consider taxis are likely to be an expensive part of the night. Can't seem to travel anywhere for under CHF25 , or just wait until the trams start at 05.30.

Does anyone go clubbing anymore?
