Somewhere friendly to eat/drink on a Wednesday in Zurich

I will be staying in Zurich for a single night in a couple of weeks time and I'm interested in finding somewhere friendly for a foreigner (British) to hang out, maybe meet some interesting people around my own age. I'm a man in my early thirties. Ideally looking for a restaurant with bar that will be lively on a week night, but needs to have the right kind of atmosphere. I'm not interested in clubs or loud bars, would prefer somewhere where you can socialise and chat over a few drinks.

I have no idea where I am staying yet, but will likely be close to the airport.

Thanks very much. Jay.
