Shamrock Wollishofen changed hands

Just today learnt that a new crew has taken over in the Shamrock Irish Pub. Bart apparently has left, taking much of the "old" crew with him. Heard that he took over or will take over another Irish Pub somewhere in Zürich but did not yet get the details

Re: Shamrock Wollishofen changed hands

I just found out via the facebook page of www.theexpatproject.ch, that the new place run by the guys from the Shamrock is called Kennedy's and is on Freischutzgasse 14 near The HB and Sihlpost tram stop. It looks like they've taken over Rincao the Brazilian BBQ old place.

I wish Bart and his team all the best with the new venture. It will solve the only problem I ever had with the Shamrock - it was a pain for me to get to.

Ditto.

I really hope the new place is a success. I used to love the Shamrock, but it was really difficult to get home from, even more so once we'd moved out to the mountains.

Looking forward to seeing the new pub!

Re: Shamrock Wollishofen changed hands

I see it's on the corner of Lagerstrasse.
They should get that changed to Stoutstrasse.

Re: Shamrock Wollishofen changed hands

I went in to the new place after work last night. Unfortunately I could only stay a short while as I had a prior engagement.

In summary: very impressed. The place is huge and I can confirm the Guinness is as good as the Shamrock I.e. the best in Zurich. Bart was as welcoming as ever. Despite it being early on the opening night (I left at 18:30), it was already surprisingly busy. This place is going to do very well!

I checked things a bit and found out that
> Bart is the owner of the Churasceria beside HB
> Bart still is the owner of the Shamrock Wollishofen
> Bart now apparently also owns the Shamrock Luzern

visited the new place just today and spoke with Bart

- he has sold the Shamrock
- he bought the Churrascaria and turned it into an Irish Pub

This means that the new crew in the Shamrock and he will be competitioners. Not tragic, as there for instance is the James Joyce Pub etc. but a good thing

Only the future will tell how the new crew in the Shamrock will work

Anyway, the Kennedy's is a great place, so much is obvious already

--- and before I forget it, there is a Brazilian Churrascaria, named Brasil Grill on Zwinglistrasse only some 300 meters away. Not been there and so cannot tell

Almost walked past the place last week, but took the street afterwards instead. Look forward to trying it, and to hearing how the Wollishofen Shamrock is after the change.

Living 150 metres from there, I can confirm it is pretty freaking sweet. Nice place. Will be there - depending on whether they have screens and sport installed by then - next Saturday with a few mates.

Was there twice since the change. Everything the same at this time. BUT changes usually come some months later when those in charge have made their minds up.

Who will continue with the Sunday Quiz, I don't know. The Kennedy's might simply launch a competing Quiz, possibly on Saturday. The geographical location of the Kennedy's of course is superb.
