Favorite restaurants in Wädenswil to Pfäffikon?

Not feeling very inspired and looking to discover a nice new venue for a pleasant but casual dinner spot this Saturday night...

Here are some of the "usual suspects" that we're hoping to make a change from and/or were full:

- Seeli, Bäch. Fish. $$
- Sternensee, Samstagern. Swiss. $$
- Leugeten, Pfäffikon. International. $$
- Schönegg, Wädenswil. Seasonal. $$
- Eichmühle, Richterswil. $$$

Could try the Seerose / Schiff / Rathaus at the lake in Pfäffikon. Or one of the restaurants in the Seedamm Hotel. Perhaps even up at the Panorama Hotel. Couple in Feusisberg, but I cant recall their names.

There are plenty of others but I dont think you are looking for the e.g. Wadi braueri and others with similar general fare.

I never tried the Seerose, but the odd review online seems positive. Not sure if the other couple eat fish though.

Rathaus is an idea. Havent been for ages either.

Schiff. Not sure the menu changed in the 15 years I've been here.

Seedamm. Never seemed very consistent, but I guess that's par for the course for hotels.

Panorama. Long story..

Makes me sound like Goldilocks, but just itching to find somewhere gemütlich, with tasty value for money (by CH standards) food. Have been feeling disgruntled lately.

I would be tempted to try the Wädi Brewery, but we will have been drinking wine before I suspect, so not a good mix. For another time.

The L'O in Horgen is supposed to be nice (but expensive). Also if you like fish there are the restaurants in Hurden (Rössli and Kreuz). In Wädenswil there is also the restaurant Schönegg (they also have Minigolf, don't know if that is open that time of the year but we always had a great time there as kids ).

Hope you will get some good suggestions!

Have you tried the Landgasthof on top of the Au Halbinsel.

It used to have a good game menu in Autumn but I think that's finished now.

They serve fish and other things.

It's pleasant and casual as you requested.

Just saw your post...maybe the Schönenberg in Wädi could be an option for you then. Also - if you have a car - the Restaurant Schwyzerhüsli used to be good (haven't been there for a long time but they are always crowded on the weekend when I walk by). Or the Frohe Aussicht in Oberrieden.

If you like Indian Food the restaurant Chalet India at the trainstation Horgen Oberdorf is nice (but obviously no Swiss food).

A restaurant I like (with a great view if the weather is nice) is the Hanegg on the road to Hirzel. The speciality is Poulet im Chörbli ("chicken in a basket").

Finally there is also the restaurant Schwan in the middle of the "old" town of Horgen.

Getting hungry

Pike perch with home made mash... sounds lekker. Could definitely be worth a go.

If steak on a hot stone (or pizza, if you prefer) appeals, you could try this place in Pfaff: http://www.schuetzenhaus-pfaeffikon....php?pg=aktuell

Re: Favorite restaurants in Wädenswil to Pfäffikon?

We are actually going to be eating early after a mid afternoon event, so Im thinking a trip to pub Wädi Brau Haus would fit the bill well.. they seem to have quite a broad menu? Does anyone know can you/do you need to book at table?

Thanks for all the ideas above, there are certainly a couple of places to try out new.

Yes, you can book. In the past, I have done this by email.
The food there is ok, quite large portions for this part of the world!
