Shopping in Pontarlier ...

...off now to the new Carrefour Contact at the entrance to Pontarlier, where the DIA used to be. Open to 20.00 every night and also on Sunday am till 13.00. Never had a Carrefour before in Pontarlier- and will avoid having to go right round town to Shopping centre beyond. Will report back. No other shop opens on Sunday am in Pontus!

Re: Shopping in Pontarlier ...

So how was it?
Might make the Aldi literally next door consider opening on a Sunday too..

Re: Shopping in Pontarlier ...

Nice and clean, good fruit and veg, a butcher's - much smaller than HyperU or Géant and Leclerc other side of town- but in a way I prefer a smaller place - quick to wiz around and not so tempted to buy all sorts of stuff not on the list. Definitely will go back again- that way I can go into the town proper for the smaller shops and boutiques, and the market on Thursday mornings (and Saturday) and then stop for the rest on way back. Very useful that it is open till 20.00 every night and on Sunday mornings. Aldi next door is really not very good!

Re: Shopping in Pontarlier ...

BTW just found out that the Launderette has re-opened with new machines, including a huge one for 27 kg - which will be great for the duvets!

Oh and a tip- if you go to the Ibis Hôtel restaurant for lunch (next to Géant) they will tell you they do not serve lunch, and give you a 15% off voucher for the new Courte-Paille!
